Overall I believe that this genre is still fairly small, there are a few really popular movies, t.v. shows, and video games but most people don’t realize that nostalgic horror is actually a genre until told about it. Even if it is small there is a lot of interest in this type of horror and it generally has very positive feedback. The only real criticism I witnessed while researching and surveying  was the issue of repeated content since this genre doesn’t have many examples, people tend to pull from similar sources of inspiration. But even with this, the genre is still loved by many horror fans and people want to see more projects with this theme in them. I think that this genre is only going to continue to grow in popularity over the next decades and right now we are just seeing the beginnings of a new type of horror being created.
